The Community-Built Association wrapped up its invigorating and inspiring biennial conference last night in Portland, OR.
I so enjoyed connecting once again with such creative, vibrant, community-building colleagues from all over the country.
I soaked up three days of highlights, not least helping to build and walk (and run) this labyrinth (my first). Thanks and appreciation to Landscape Architect Stephen Shibley, for showing us how acccomplish this. Roughly, it took 6 people about 10 hours. Isn't it beautiful?

We will try and include a labyrinth in all our playground designs. For our purposes, we would want
- Wider paths for those in wheelchairs
- A hard, smooth path
- Handrails
- Occasional seating
- Not so many circuits
I'm more excited and determined than ever to create the first ever community-built playground for elders.
